Keep the claim beside its qualification.

A published UPF label is useful information; it is not our own certification.

1

Identify who made the claim

The UPF statements in this directory are attributed to the hat manufacturer. We have not independently tested or certified these products, and we do not turn a product title into our own assurance of protection. Check the exact model’s current label and source.

2

Retain the exclusions

Some listings qualify a rating by excluding mesh. That qualification stays with the claim in our product records and comparison table. The presence of a broad rating does not give us evidence to add a whole-hat coverage guarantee.

3

Do not infer protection from a concept image

A concept image can suggest a broad hat shape. It cannot establish the construction of the named model, how sunlight reaches a child, how the actual garment sits or what happens during use. Our AI-generated images are clearly labeled and are not test evidence.

4

Return to official guidance for health decisions

The FDA advises keeping infants out of direct sun and discusses shade, appropriate clothing and a brimmed hat. Read its current infant sun-care page for context and consult a clinician about individual questions. A shopping tool matches published sizes; it does not set a medical plan.
